The 2023 Les Grands Chenes is soft, round and enveloping, Silky tannins wrap around a core of black fruit, gravel, spice, menthol, dried herbs and mocha. Most of the wine is now aged in a combination of terra cotta, neutral oak and tank, which really seems to exalt the brightness of fruit in this Merlot-based blend.

86-88 POINTS
A blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, Les Grands Chenes 2023 has a deep garnet-purple color. It opens with notes of cedar and dried herbs, giving way to an undercurrent of fresh red and black plums and raspberry leaves. Medium-bodied, the palate is light on its feet, with slightly chewy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing with a savory lift. (05/2024)
