The 2023 La Tour de Mons is a pleasant, fruity Margaux to drink young while the flavors remain vibrant. Succulent red cherry, spice, blood orange and pomegranate take center stage. Tour de Mons is not especially complex, but it is tasty.

An absolute classic Margaux, the 2023 Château La Tour De Mons offers up a complex bouquet of red fruits, sandalwood, Asian spice, leather, and dried flowers. It's medium-bodied and has a layered, elegant mouthfeel, silky tannins, and a great finish. I think it's going to drink well right out of the gate yet see no reason it shouldn't have two decades of overall longevity. (05/2024)

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 La Tour de Mons strolls out of the glass with easy-going scents of cranberry sauce, black raspberries, and redcurrant preserves followed by hints of dried herbs, tree bark, and black olives. The medium-bodied palate is refreshing and invigorating, with red berries and herbal flavors supported by a racy backbone and lightly chewy tannins, finishing on a peppery note. The blend is 57% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot, and 4% Cabernet Franc. (04/2024)
