2023 Clos Saint-Martin

Coming from 1.3 hectares of vines on the upper plateau, the 2023 Clos Saint-Martin (80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon) has a crushed, almost liquid rock-like sense of minerality as well as gorgeous aromatics of black raspberry and darker cherry fruits that give way to some floral, camphor, and spicy nuances. This medium to full-bodied, pure, beautifully balanced Saint-Emilion has ripe, integrated, polished tannins, remarkable purity, and outstanding length. (05/2024)

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Clos Saint-Martin gives up notes of crushed blackberries and black raspberries followed by hints of cedar, graphite, and wild thyme. The medium-bodied palate delivers lovely tension, with lightly grippy tannins and bright fruit, finishing with an herbal lift. The blend is 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
