The 2023 La Pointe has a harmonious and generous bouquet with ample blackberry, black truffle and light cedar aromas. The oak is very well integrated. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth in texture with fine tannins. This is not a deep or powerful La Pointe, but it's poised and commendably delineated on the finish. This Pomerol has an air of sophistication, and it will drink earlier than the 2022.

A blend of 79% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc, La Pointe 2023 has a pH of 3.58 and is deep garnet-purple in color. It slowly emerges from the glass with fragrant scents of redcurrant jelly, Morello cherries, and fresh plums, leading to hints of star anise, lilacs, fallen leaves, and tilled soil. The medium-bodied palate is lively and vivacious, with energetic black and red berry layers and soft, satiny tannins, finishing long and earthy. Nicely done! (05/2024)
