The 2023 La Louvière Blanc is a tasty, easygoing Sauvignon Blanc to drink now and over the next few years. Lemon peel, apricot, mint, sage, dried flowers and white pepper open first, with pretty tropical overtones appearing later. This is nicely done. Tasted two times.

The core of fruit in this is beautiful with seamless tannins that run the length of the wine and deliver a cylinder of refined fruit. Long at the finish. Better than 2022. (05/2024)

Cassis, smoky oak, graphite, and ample spicy nuances all emerge from the 2023 Château La Louvière, a medium-bodied, focused, elegant, nicely concentrated Pessac-Léognan that has good mid-palate depth, plenty of tannins, and a great finish. Tasted twice. (05/2024)

La Louviere 2023 is deep garnet-purple in color. It begins a touch sluggish, with notions of charcoal, tapenade, and sauteed herbs eventually opening to reveal blackcurrants and mulberries at the core, with a hint of tobacco. The medium-bodied palate is elegant and refreshing, with lightly chewy tannins and a savory finish. (05/2024)
