The 2023 Clos Marsalette was picked from September 12 to 22 at 45hL/ha. This has a fresh, marine-influenced bouquet, with touches of oyster shell infusing the black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy opening and a granular texture. The soft, slightly tart finish pulls up a bit short, but it has a sense of charm.

The medium-bodied palate is fresh and light on its feet, with satiny tannins and a lively backbone, finishing on a spicy note. The blend is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. Moderately weighted and elegant, it’s fleshy and dynamic with good depth of fruit, supple tannins and a long, elegant finish. This is a real success in Von Neipperg’s range.
