The most singular wine in the range, the 2023 Pinot Noir Amrita was sourced from Rim Rock Vineyard in Arroyo Grande Valley, and it left me equal parts perplexed and fascinated. The nose is exceptionally savory yet beautifully floral, with pure, gentle and finely delineated aromatics that remain intense despite their measured nature. The palate is lacy and lifted while displaying impressive umami-like richness in a featherweight package, finishing with extraordinary power and tannic persistence, considering its weight class. This wine functioned almost like a light Syrah or even Mondeuse, more so than Pinot Noir, but the finished product made it hard to care; it's the only thing I've ever had like it, and I look forward to revisiting it whenever possible.
