The 2022 Lacoste-Borie, raised in 50% new oak, has an ebullient bouquet with cranberry, raspberry and wilted rose petal scents. There is a trace of melted tar. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. The 2022 shows a lovely balance, somehow carefree, with completeness and what I suspect will be enticing drinkability. That said, it has the structure to age.

It scoots out with eager-to-please scents of redcurrant jelly, fresh blackberries, and black raspberries, plus wafts of wild sage, roses, and tilled soil. The medium-bodied palate is bright and refreshing with soft tannins, leading to a perfumed finish on this pretty wine. (05/2023)

A blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc, the 2022 Lacoste-Borie is as good a wine from this label as I can remember tasting. Exhibiting aromas of cassis, charcoal and violets, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and lively, with excellent depth and persistence.
