2022 L'Aventure Cuvée Chloé

Glass staining purple in color, the 2022 For Her is a spice box mixing cedar shavings with cloves, wilted violets and dusty black cherries. This is seductively ripe upon entry, with velvety waves of raspberry and blackberry guided by lively acidity. A mix of tactile minerals and spice add saturating tension toward the close. The 2022 finishes perfumed and gently tannic, with a pleasantly bitter tinge of cocoa powder that slowly fades. For Her is a tantalizing and co-fermented blend of 58% Syrah, 30% Graciano and 12% Viognier.

Juicy red and blue fruits, peppery herbs, graphite, and leather all shine in the 2022 Chloé, a Syrah-dominated blend that has more Viognier than normal. It's another ripe, medium to full-bodied, round, supple, and approachable 2022 from this team that's already drinking nicely. The full blend is 55% Syrah, 33% Grenache, 9% Viognier, and the rest Graciano, all aged 15 months in 43% new French oak, with a full 28% of the blend brought up in Amphora. (08/2024)
