The 2022 Riesling Bernkasteler Lay Auslese Goldkapsel was made with a small portion of botrytis, around 30%. Candied Mirabelle and white peach are still tempered by aromatic citrus, resulting in a picture of elegance, full of fruit but also of serene, smooth, tempered ripeness that just shimmers with Mirabelle, peach, Meyer lemon and supple, tempered, zesty, balanced sweetness. Botrytis is only evident in concentration and a touch of honey on the finish. (Sweet)
