The 2022 Domaine de L'Aurage is a wine of pure and total seduction. Ample and creamy in feel, with terrific depth, the 2022 makes a strong first impression. Succulent dark cherry, plum, licorice, incense, chocolate and new leather are some of the notes that inform this decidedly ample, large-scaled Côtes de Castillon. The 2022 is one of the best vintages I have tasted here.

I loved the 2022 Domaine De L'Aurage, which comes from a great terroir in the Castillon region. Cassis, graphite, vanilla bean, and acacia flower notes all define the aromatics, and it's full-bodied, with a layer, concentrated mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. (05/2023)

The 2022 L'Aurage, 100% Merlot, is deep garnet-purple in color. Smoked meats, baked plums, and dried mulberries jump from the glass with hints of wild fungi and damp soil. It is full-bodied, concentrated, and a bit funky on the palate, with rounded tannins and soft acidity. (05/2023)
