2022 DDLC Estate

The 2022 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills) is airy, gracious and understated. Dried herbs, mint, crushed flowers, cedar and tobacco all run through this perfumed, layered Pinot. The floral and savoy style is so typical of these wines. Aeration brings out lovely mid-palate richness and pliancy to round things out. There's plenty of charm and immediacy here.

This is lively, with almost spiky acidity and a brisk sea shell minerality cutting through its core of bitter plum and dark cherry fruit. Shows a mouthwatering savory edge on the finish. This just needs brief cellaring to settle in fully. Best from 2025 through 2031. 697 cases made.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Estate is a more red-fruited, tobacco leaf-tinged, herbal expression of this classically dark-fruited, saline-driven western Sta. Rita Hills estate site. The palate combines elegance, precision, ripeness and stuffing, transitioning to a concentrated yet pure and lifted finish. This is a fittingly beautiful entryway into some of the most serious yet approachable wines of Santa Barbara County.
