The 2022 Sénéjac, which has had the guidance of Jean-Michel Laporte (Château Talbot) in recent years, was picked September 12-29 and aged in 30% new oak. It has a perfumed bouquet with red berry fruit, cedar and blood orange scents. More graphite notes emerge with time and impart a Pauillac-like flair. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins and a silver bead of acidity. The oak feels polished, but not overbearing, thereby allowing the finish to really shine. This is a wonderful Haut-Médoc, one of the best wines that I have tasted from the estate.
