2022 Château Plince

The 2022 Plince is a little more loose-knit on the nose than the La Serre and Pindefleurs, also under the JP Moueix umbrella. Earthy, almost mulch-like red fruit and a whiff of tobacco come through on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy, quite toasty red fruit although the summer sun seems to have shaped the finish more compared to other crus and it loses some freshness and delineation.

Dried blue flowers, ripe baked cherries, mussel shells and sweet berries on the nose. The acidity is at the lower end of the scale, with a medium to full body and firm, tight-grained tannins. Generous, with a hint of fruit sweetness before a long and firm finish. Drink from 2026. (01/2025)

Ripe black fruits, leafy herbs, sweet earth, and spicy notes all emerge from the 2022 Château Plince, a nicely textured, rich, ripe, sexy Pomerol that has lots of upfront appeal and character. (02/2025)

Offering up notes of sweet jammy cherries and strawberries mingled with cedary new oak, the 2022 Plince is medium to full-bodied, ripe and succulent, built around youthfully chewy tannins. As usual, this will be approachable on release.
