2022 Château Pindefleurs

A modern St.-Emilion with sweet wood spices, dark fruit and touches of violet extract and licorice. Juicy and well framed, with a medium to full body and a long, firm finish. It needs two or three more years in the bottle.

Ripe black cherries, mulberries, smoked tobacco, camphor, and graphite are just some of the nuances in the 2022 Château Pindefleurs, another pure, medium to full-bodied, gorgeously textured Saint-Emilion. With a terrific sense of freshness, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish, it's going to be well worth seeking out. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, from gravelly, clay, and limestone soils in Saint-Emilion. (05/2023)

The 2022 Pindefleurs, 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, is deep garnet-purple in color. It delivers slightly sluggish, broody notes of tar, tobacco leaf, and Sichuan pepper, followed by a core of plum preserves and baked blackberries. The medium-bodied palate is laced with savory herbs and peppery flavors, supported by soft tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing earthy. (05/2023)
