The 2022 Pibran is matured in 40% new oak. It has quite an opulent bouquet, perhaps with just a touch of sur-maturité, a very slight fig note that might well be subsumed during the barrel maturation. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins. Quite a solid Pibran, plenty of freshness on the finish. This is a Pibran that will require 3-4 year in bottle.

The 2022 Château Pibran might be the finest vintage I've tasted. Based on 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, it has a wonderfully pure nose of cassis and assorted blue fruits, lots of tobacco, crushed stone, and graphite nuances, medium to full body, ripe tannins, and a beautiful sense of freshness and purity that keeps this ripe, concentrated beauty balanced and light on its feet. The élevage will span 18 months in 40% new barrels, with the balance in once-used. (05/2023)

The 2022 Pibran is a blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple in color, it gives up notes of black cherry preserves, baked plums, and mulberries, leading to hints of charcoal, black olives, and tilled soil. The medium-bodied palate has a sturdy frame of chewy tannins and plenty of freshness supporting the generous black fruits, finishing with a red berry lift. (05/2023)

Exhibiting aromas of dark berries, plums, petals and burning embers, the 2022 Pibran is medium to full-bodied, taut and lively, with bright acids and a chalky finish. It should flesh out nicely with further élevage.

Château Pibran – junges Weingut in Paulliac

Obgleich das Gebäude selbst bereits stand, lässt sich die Geschichte des Château Pibran nur für die vergangenen rund 80 Jahre zurückverfolgen, und so zählt das Weingut zu den jüngsten in der Bordelaiser Appellation
