2022 Château Les Hauts-Conseillants

Th 2022 Les Hauts-Conseillants was picked on 10 September and aged in 40% new oak. This is nicely controlled on the nose: melted tar and graphite infusing the black fruit, later hints of iris flower. I like the precision here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, well balanced with ample fruit toward the smooth finish.

The 2022 Les Hauts-Conseillants has a deep garnet-purple color. It comes bounding out with exuberant scents of blueberry pie, plum preserves, and fallen leaves, leading to wafts of sauteed herbs and cumin seed. Medium-bodied, the palate has soft-spoken black fruits, with a soft texture and a harmonious finish. (05/2023)
