Tasted on two separate occasions with consistent notes, the 2022 Château Les Gravières is 100% Merlot harvested between September 14th and 17th from healthy yields of 55 hectoliters per hectare. It's a medium to full-bodied, ripe, yet seamless and balanced Saint-Emilion with lots of meaty, smoky red and black fruits, some tobacco, roasted coffee, and spring flower nuances, fine tannins, and a great finish. It's a beautifully made 2022 with lots to love. Due to the unfortunate passing of owner Denis Barraud in 2023, this estate is now being managed by Denis' nephew, Franck Canal-Descude, with consulting advice from Thomas Duclos's Oenoteam. (05/2023)
