"... ganz saubere, klare, noch etwas verhaltene Frucht, feine Brioche-Noten, etwas schlankere Mitte, elegant, softe Tannine, feine Bitterschoko im Finish." (07/2023)

Luc d'Arfeuille owns this lovely 7ha estate on the limestone plateau of St Emilion, with a good kick of Cabernet Franc fragrant aromatics, and a kiss of grilled oak, this does a lovely job of harnessing the sweet ripe fruit of the year to a fresher expression of lemongrass and fennel, mouthwatering finish, good quality expression of limestone with a bitter fennel twist on the lingering finish. Harvest September 7 to 26. (01/2025)

The 2022 La Serre has a vivacious bouquet with ebullient, wonderfully delineated red fruit laced with fresh fig and crushed violet scents. True to form, this is forward and generous in style. The palate is very smooth with blackberry, graphite and light tobacco notes and gentle grip on the finish. It is full and plush without being overbearing. This is a lip-smackingly delicious La Serra.

A juicy and chewy red with crushed stone and hints of chalkboard with black fruits and nutmeg spice. Medium to full body. Structured finish. Very well done here. (04/2023)

Truffly earth, black cherries, chalk, sweet saddle leather, and a beautiful floral character all emerge from the 2022 Château La Serre, another riveting Saint-Emilion that has a balanced, elegant mouthfeel, superb concentration, and velvety tannins. It's hard to resist today yet will age gracefully over the coming two decades. (02/2025)

A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, the 2022 La Serre is deep garnet-purple in color. It charges out with bold expressions of raspberry pie, juicy black plums, and Morello cherries, leading to wafts of cinnamon toast and charcoal. The medium to full-bodied palate is plush and juicy, with well-balanced acidity providing freshness on the finish. (05/2023)

Notions of minty blackberries, cedar and licorice, along with subtle hints of leather, introduce the 2022 La Serre, a medium to full-bodied, supple and creamy wine with a rich core of fruit and a mineral finish. This isn't quite as pure and precise as it showed en primeur, but it's a solid effort.
