"... ganz saubere, klare, noch etwas verhaltene Frucht, feine Brioche-Noten, etwas schlankere Mitte, elegant, softe Tannine, feine Bitterschoko im Finish." (07/2023)

The 2022 La Serre was picked 7-26 September. Always one of the "hidden gems" amongst J-P Moueix's range, this is another in a line of seductive and finely-crafted wines from the Saint-Émilion estate. The bouquet "gushes" from the nose with copious kirsch, fresh fig and ebullient red fruit, perhaps a little glossy in style, yet it maintains impressive delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannins, fine acidity, lovely balance and more finesse than the preceding Pindefleurs. Wonderful purity. This La Serre comes highly recommended.

A juicy and chewy red with crushed stone and hints of chalkboard with black fruits and nutmeg spice. Medium to full body. Structured finish. Very well done here. (04/2023)

Coming from a 7-hectare vineyard located on the upper limestone plateau of Saint-Emilion, the 2022 Château La Serre reveals a dense purple/plum color as well as gorgeous aromatics of black raspberries, cassis, graphite, chalky minerality, spring flowers, and spice. Wonderfully textured, medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and yet also elegant, it's a more lively, vibrant style from this estate that still shows plenty of classic La Serre richness and depth. A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, the 2022 La Serre is deep garnet-purple in color. It charges out with bold expressions of raspberry pie, juicy black plums, and Morello cherries, leading to wafts of cinnamon toast and charcoal. The medium to full-bodied palate is plush and juicy, with well-balanced acidity providing freshness on the finish. (05/2023)

90-93 POINTS
The 2022 La Serre is a notable success, offering up aromas of wild berries, cherries and rose petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and suave palate that's deep, seamless and sensual, with a bright core of fruit and a long, mineral finish. This seven-hectare estate, situated on the shallow soils of the limestone plateau next to La Clotte and Villemaurine on the one side and Trotte Vieille and Troplong Mondot on the other, is planted at 7,200 vines per hectare, with some 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. With this vintage, La Serre takes an appreciable step up in quality.
