2022 Château La Grave a Pomerol

An opulent Pomerol with a nice touch of savoriness and lots of sweet plums. Lightly saline, this has medium to full body, fine-boned tannins and a lengthy finish. A ripe vintage gives more supple texture and flavor, but there is still freshness and finesse. Drink from 2027. (01/2025)

Fleshy and forward at first glance, but with good underlying energy, this lets raspberry and boysenberry pâte de fruit notes lead the way, while black tea, singed anise and subtle minerality chime underneath. Winds up with sneaky length in the end. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2038. 1,900 cases made, 40 cases imported.

The 2022 La Grave-Trigant-de-Boisset offers up aromas of dark berries, licorice and pencil shavings, followed by a medium to full-bodied, polished palate that exhibits good depth and density.
