2022 Château Haut Bages Monpelou

A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Franc, the 2022 Haut-Bages Monpelou is deep garnet-purple in color. Baked plums, boysenberry preserves, and creme de cassis scents jump from the glass, giving way to cinnamon stick, lilacs, and crushed rocks. The medium-bodied palate delivers impressive concentration of black fruit preserves, with a firm, grainy texture and oodles of freshness, finishing with a real skip in its step. (2023)
