"... sehr schöne, reife, warme Frucht, am Gaumen dann kräftige Tannine, minimal gezehrt, feine florale Noten, feine Bitterness, schöne Tabaknote." (2023)

Ripe red fruits, fleshy raspberry and sage spice, subdued armatics but plenty of textural impact and some restraint shown here. Coffee bean and grilled cedar as it opens. 15ha vineyard, Bertrand Arpin estate director, Dourthe Vignobles. (01/2025)

The 2022 Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac opens with rose petal, small red berry fruit, dried flowers, mint and cedar. Aromatic and light on its feet, this slender Saint-Émilion shows good balance. It is certainly not a blockbuster wine, but it's striving for finesse and understatement—qualities that are evident in 2022. The Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac is nicely done.

Fine notes of white pepper and roasted spices to the bright red cherries, berries and plums. Medium-bodied on the palate with stony tannins and a firm, juicy finish. Drink from 2026. (01/2025)

Juicy blackcurrants, leafy herbs, leather, and truffly earth all emerge from the 2022 Château Grand Barrail La Marzelle Figeac. Medium-bodied, it has a focused, structured profile, with firmer tannins and solid complexity. This classic, well-made Saint-Émilion should evolve nicely for 8-10 years. (02/2025)

Notes of cassis, mulberries, cherries and spices emerge from the 2022 Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac, a medium to full-bodied, round and enveloping wine with a juicy core of fruit, an assertive, youthful tannic frame and a long, spicy finish.
