The 2022 Enclos Tourmaline is another very pretty wine in this range from the Kwok family. Dark cherry/plum fruit, spice, lavender, mocha and dried flowers give this deceptively medium-bodied Pomerol lovely complexity as well as nuance. Time in the glass brings out pretty sweetness on the mid-palate. This fleshes out nicely. Tasted two times.

Smoky red and black fruits, chocolate, violets, and spring flower notes all emerge from the 2022 Enclos Tourmaline, a medium to full-bodied, lively, vibrant Pomerol that shows the riper style of the vintage yet stays fresh, focused, and elegant. It picks up more floral nuances with time in the glass and is a terrific effort. As always, this is all Merlot from vines near La Fleur Petrus and Trotanoy, from 30 hectoliters per hectare, that will spend 15 months in new oak. Tasted twice. (2023)
