The 2022 Doisy-Vedrines is classy, understated and supremely polished. It unfolds in the glass with tropical-inflected notes of tangerine oil, passion fruit and exotic flowers. Airy in feel yet wonderfully deep, the Doisy-Vedrines is very refined in 2022.

A very classic Sauternes with dried apricots, sliced peaches and apples with caramel and honey. Medium- to full-bodied with a very sweet palate and intense botrytis. Really flavorful and lovely, showing the great modern era of Sauternes. This will age beautifully. One of the best bottles I have had from here in years. Drink or hold. (01/2025)

Exotic honeyed mint, caramelized pineapple, and orange marmalade all emerge from the 2022 Château Doisy-Védrines, another ripe, powerful Sauternes that has beautiful balance and length. Despite the richness and opulence of the year, it has a good spine of acidity and stays light on its feet. (02/2025)

A blend of 90% Semillon, 8% Sauvignon Blanc, and 2% Muscadelle, the 2022 Doisy-Vedrines has 162 g/L of residual sugar. It is pale lemon-straw in color and it is very spicy on the nose, with scents of ginger ale, allspice, and anise springing from the glass, followed by hints of juicy apricots and pears, plus a touch of cedar. The palate is rich, decadently sweet, and unctuous, with a lively backbone and great length. (04/2024)
