Gentle white pepper spice, fennel, cocoa bean and smoked caramel, this shows structure and grip that translates to high austerity in the tannins right now. Give it time as there are pretty violet and peony notes as it opens up, but it struggles to expand through the mid palate. Just beginning the works of building a hotel on the estate. 60% new oak for ageing, gravel soils, with a section of sandy gravel, Gerard Jicquel owner. 35hl/h yield. 50% new oak, 40% stainless steel vats, 10% amphora for ageing. The 2022 d'Agassac is soft, open-knit and quite pretty. Cedar, tobacco, grilled herbs and leather lend notable aromatic complexity. This mid-weight Haut-Médoc is expressive and also very much ready to go.

A solid, well-balanced Haut-Medoc showing dark berries, wet stones, graphite and baking spices. Medium-bodied and driven, this has a pulpy berry character at the center, sinewy tannins and a structured frame on the edges. Focused with a compact, flavorful and persistent finish. Try from 2028. Red and black currants, tobacco leaf, leather, and cedary nuances all shine in the 2022 Château D'Agassac, a charming, forward, medium-bodied 2022 that has fine, nicely balanced tannins, a pure, elegant mouthfeel, and outstanding length. It's going to drink incredibly well over the coming 10-12 years. The blend is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc raised in 60% new barrels and 40% in stainless steel. A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2022 d'Agassac is deep garnet-purple in color. It tumbles from the glass with ready-to-go notes of stewed red and black plums, blackcurrant pastilles, and forest floor, plus a touch of violets. The medium-bodied palate is lively and energetic, with approachable grainy tannins providing support, and lovely purity of fruit on the finish. (05/2023)

Gourmand and charming, the 2022 D'Agassac has turned out beautifully. Evoking aromas of dark berries, cassis, mulberries and flowers, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with melting tannins and some freshness enhanced by a juicy core of fruit. This blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot matured for 12 months in barrels (60% new). It is a seamless, perfumed wine.
