The 2022 Clos Lunelles is a heady, flamboyant wine. A rush of dark red/purplish fruit, cedar, tobacco, incense and dried herbs races out of the glass, announcing this stylish Côtes de Castillon with notable class. Pretty floral overtones from the Cabernet Franc lift the finish nicely.

A fresh and vivid red with lots of black fruits and blueberries as well as violets and other flowers. It's full-bodied with very silky and fine tannins. Flavorful finish. Lots going on. Made from only nine hectares. Impressive for the appellation. 80% merlot, 10% cabernet franc and 10% cabernet sauvignon. Drink after 2027. (01/2025)

The 2022 Clos Lunelles comes from vines just outside the appellation, just across from Faugères, and is based on 80% Merlot and 10% each Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Black raspberries, crushed stone, flowers, and chocolaty nuances all shine in this brilliant Castillon, another riveting wine from this team that brings full-bodied power and richness while staying elegant and seamless. You can put this up with the best in Saint-Emilion and it will do just fine. (02/2025)

The 2022 Clos Lunelles is a blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon with 3.57 pH. Deep garnet-purple in color, it pops from the glass with vibrant wild blueberries, kirsch, and red currant jelly scents, followed by hints of rose oil, crushed rocks, and graphite. The full-bodied palate delivers electrically charged red and black fruits, supported by a racy backbone and super-fine-grained tannins, finishing long and chalky. Yields were 35 hl/ha. (2023)
