The 2022 Blason de L'Évangile is a very beautiful and expressive second wine, just as it was en primeur. Strong floral, blood orange, new leather and spice notes are all beautifully lifted. Accents of white pepper, chalk and mint are all beautifully delineated. This is such a classy, polished wine.

I like the berry and chocolate aromas, together with notes of fresh herbs and black olives. Medium-bodied with lovely fruit and a fresh and clean finish. Nice fluidity. Clean and bright. Made with less wood and some casks and amphora. From a selection of young vines. 81% merlot and 19% cabernet franc. So good to drink now, but will age nicely. (01/2025)

It's a forward, soft, incredibly charming and supple second wine with classic Merlot cherry and darker currant fruits, some leafy herbs, spice, and tobacco notes, medium body, nice balance, integrated tannins, and outstanding length. It comes barreling out of the glass with bold notes of juicy plums, black cherry compote, and dark chocolate, followed by hints of dried mint, anise, and crushed rocks. The medium to full-bodied palate is showy and impactful, with bags of open-knit, gregarious fruit and a plush texture, finishing long and spicy. (05/2023)
