2022 "Bienenberg" Spätburgunder Großes Gewächs | MG

What stunning blackberry and black cherry fruit this rich and beautifully balanced Baden red has. So elegant and silky on the medium- to full-bodied palate that it takes your breath away. I love the gentle crescendo in the finish, where everything finds its place and the restrained tension is exactly resolved. Drink or hold.

Deep and intense on the still yeasty but also floral nose, the 2022 Spätburgunder Malterdingen Bienenberg GG opens to fully ripe, dark and red berry aromas. On the palate, this is a silky, lush and elegant, very charming yet tensioned and saline, crunchy and grippy Pinot from Huber's home-base village. The wine is as powerful as it is pure and vivacious. Tasted at the Vorpremiere VDP.Grosses Gewächs in Wiesbaden in August 2024.
