The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru is blended with around two-thirds whole bunches. By direct comparison, it has more cohesion and fruit intensity than the Bonnes-Mares this year. An irresistible mélange of wild strawberry and raspberry struck through with life-affirming mineralité. The palate is medium-bodied, exquisite in terms of harmony with filigree tannins. There is unerring symmetry at play, endowed with more depth and body than the aforementioned Grand Cru, sylph-like towards the finish. Sophisticated and cerebral.
