2021 Concerto di Fonterutoli

This is spicy and vibrant with a mix of red and dark berries with dried citrus peel, chili pepper and spicy herbs. Hints of bark, too. Full with layers of polished tannins and chalky, powdery texture. Juicy acidity coming through. Shows depth and concentration. Racy and long. Better from 2026. (08/2023)

The 2021 Concerto Fonterutoli, 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It flies out with fragrant notes of cherry cordial, redcurrants, and roses, plus touches of garrigue, dried Provence herbs, and tobacco leaf. The full-bodied palate is taut with muscular red berry and savory flavors, supported by firm, chewy tannins and bright acidity, finishing with impressive length and energy. (08/2023)
