„…ganz saubere, klare, frische und reife Frucht, sehr schöne Nase, rotbeerig, lang, nicht so konzentriert wie früher, sehr elegant und schöne Balance, lecker, saftig, frisches Finale, apettitlich. Besser als 2020.“ (04/2022)

The 2021 La Serre is a soft, easygoing Saint-Émilion to drink now and over the next handful of years. Crushed flowers, spice, cedar, rose petal and bright red-toned fruit all grace this tasty, if somewhat light-bodied, Saint-Émilion.

This shows aromas of black olives, dark plums, iodine and paprika. It’s medium-bodied, juicy and dark-fruited, with fine and creamy tannins. Fresh and delicious. Drink or hold. (07/2024)

The 2021 Château La Serre comes from 7 hectare of vines on the upper plateau and is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc that was harvested from October 4-10. This medium-bodied, elegant, charming 2021 has pretty red (and some black) fruits as well as classic dusty limestone, flowers, and spicy nuances. It's balanced and has soft, supple tannins and outstanding length. (04/2024)

A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, La Serre 2021 is medium garnet-purple in color. It rolls out of the glass with up-front scents of black raspberries and raspberry coulis, followed by suggestions of mulberries and wild sage. Medium-bodied, the palate is soft, bright and breezy, with a lively line and a fruity finish. (04/2024)

The 2021 La Serre confirms its strong showing en primeur, bursting with aromas of plums, berries, rose petals and spices, followed by a medium-bodied, pure and fleshy palate that's ample and charming, with an enveloping core of fruit and melting tannins. As readers may remember, this seven-hectare property, beautifully situated on the shallow soils of the limestone plateau next to La Clotte and Villemaurine on the one side and Trotte Vieille and Troplong Mondot on the other, is planted at 7,200 vines per hectare, with some 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The 2021 confirms that this is an estate on the rise.
