The 2021 d’Aiguilhe is dark, fleshy and super-expressive. Black cherry, plum, new leather, licorice and mocha unfurl in the glass. The d'Aiguilhe is a blend of old vines and newer plantings from a massale selection started about a decade ago. Soft, plush contours add to its considerable appeal.

This has blueberries, dark chocolate, lavender and hints of sage on the nose. Medium-bodied with firm and silky tannins and a chalky finish. Crunchy. Delicious now, but drink or hold. (07/2024)

The 2021 Château D'Aiguilhe is another perfumed, incredibly floral Castillon that has medium-bodied aromas and flavors of raspberries, spring flowers, and a kiss of chalky minerality. It's elegant, beautifully balanced, has fine tannins, and a great finish. It's another delicious 2021 to drink in its youth. (04/2024)

Composed of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, aging in 30% new oak, the 2021 d'Aiguilhe is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It opens with notes of kirsch, black raspberries, and wild sage, followed by rosehip tea and dusty soil hints. Medium-bodied, the palate is bright and cheery with crunchy red fruits and a lively line, supported by a soft texture, finishing with a compelling lift. (05/2022)

Fresh and pure, with unadorned damson plum and cherry notes racing through, carried by a nicely inlaid, chalky structure through the floral-tinged finish, showing sneaky length. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2030. 20,000 cases made.

Offering up aromas of sweet cherries, dark berries, licorice and flowers, the 2021 d'Aiguilhe is medium to full-bodied, concentrated and polished, with a tangy spine of acidity, beautifully refined tannins and a long, penetrating finish. This is a terrific effort from the von Neipperg family's organically farmed Castillon estate.
