„…sehr schöne, saubere, spicy, fruchtige Nase, sehr schöne Frische, sehr elegant, fein, sehr appetitlich, sehr schöne Struktur, elegant, große Finesse, nur minimal Bitterschoko im Finish, wird aber gut verdaut über den Ausbau, Balance!“ (04/2022)

The 2021 Clos Marsalette is bright and punchy, with tons of Cabernet character driving the feel. Savory and mineral notes abound. Dried herbs, menthol, licorice and lavender are finely sketched in this mid-weight offering.

A tight and linear red with some stone and flint character as well as chocolate. Medium body with fine tannins and a light, savory finish. Drink now. (07/2024)

Pretty red and black fruits, sappy spring flowers, tobacco, and cedar pencil notes all emerge from the 2021 Clos Marsalette, a charming, supple, medium-bodied, elegant effort that has nicely integrated acidity and a forward, charming profile. The blend is close to 50% each of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in 25% new oak. It will drink well for 10-15 years. (04/2024)

The 2021 Clos Marsalette rouge is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc, aging in 25% new oak. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it leaps with vibrant scents of red and black currants, black cherries, and forest floor, plus suggestions of cloves and cinnamon toast. Light to medium-bodied, the palate is soft and harmonious with a lively line and a spicy kick to the finish. (05/2022)

Solid for the vintage, with a good core of black currant and black cherry compote notes laced lightly with singed vanilla and cedar and underscored with a warm tobacco note. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2025. 6,000 cases made.

The 2021 Clos Marsalette is an immensely charming wine, bursting with aromas of sweet berries and plums, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy palate that's vibrant and enveloping, its powdery structuring tannins cloaked in a lively core of fruit.
