"Brothers Bruno and Marcello Ceretto made their first purchase in Brunate in 1970. Today the family counts over five hectares in this hot, south-facing MGA. The vineyards are mostly located on the mid-slope at an average of 350 metres above sea level. Darkly and exotically nuanced, the 2021 opens like a wondrous Chinese medicine herb drawer. Undertones of wet pavement, tar and lurking florals soon follow. This is steely, tight and multilayered. Sour cherry and currant are packed into the core, and silky tannins wrap confidently around. Compelling bittering agents rebound on the finish." - Michaela Morris (01/2025)

"Translucent ruby red colour, bright reflections, ready to dive into, so delicate and just incredibly drinkable, takes you into the heart of what we love about Barolo. Savoury, mouthwatering, lace-like tannins with plenty of grip underneath, a ton of redcurrant and raspberry fruits, white pepper and cumin spice, thoroughly charming from a 5.6ha vineyard located between the towns of La Morra and Barolo. Alessandro Ceretto winemaker." (02/2025)

"(Barolo; 100% Nebbiolo; from Ceretto’s 5.60 hectares in the Brunate MGA; 14.5% alcohol). Instantly more lifted, aerial and herbal. Roasted espresso beans, rosehip and rose petals. Crushed cherries – red and darker. A hint of wood smoke – but very delicate. A touch of soft leather too. On the palate this is so svelte and refined – layers of silk billowing in the breeze. Delicate, elegant, refined and truly gracious. Very suave. But also intensely juicy. The best vintage of this that I’ve tasted and a tribute to the focussed precision of the wine-making." - Colin Hay (03/2025)

The 2021 Barolo Brunate is dark, sensual and layered in the glass. Strong balsamic inflections wrap around a core of dark red-toned fruit. Cedar, orange peel and new leather add striking layers of exotic dimension. Deceptive at first, the 2021 packs plenty of Brunate punch. The long, persistent finish is captivating. This is everything Barolo should be. - Antonio Galloni (01/2025)
