2020 Pinot Noir " Sankt Paul" Großes Gewächs

Anyone who doubts the greatness of Germany’s new pinot noirs should taste this remarkable example. Great nose of sour cherries and flint with floral and oaky nuances! Powerful and structured, but already elegant on the medium- to full-bodied palate. So much flinty energy at the long, very precise and cool, stony finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2025.

2020 Pinot Noir Sankt Paul VDP.Grosse Lage is deep, intense and spicy like a cigar on the nose, with dark fruit and terroir-influenced freshness. It's enormously powerful and full-bodied on the palate yet fresh, with plenty of tension and athleticism. It's an extremely persistent Pinot! Tasted at the Vorpremiere VDP.Grosses Gewächs in Wiesbaden in August 2023.
