2020 Pinot Noir "Kammerberg" Großes Gewächs

Deep nose of raw meat, red beets and wild blackberries with fascinating savory, toasty and balsamic touches. Compact with stacks of velvety tannins this highly structured, concentrated and full-bodied pinot noir is built for the long-term. Very long, earthy and savory finish with a lively acidity. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.

The 2020 Pinot Noir KB VDP.Grosse Lage comes from 50+-year-old vines in the Kammerberg and is intense, pure and fleshy as well as refined on the nose. Pure and intensely grippy on the palate, with freshness and the deep structure of old vines in a great terroir, this is a tight and tensioned, very intense and still positively astringent Pinot with serious grip and a hint of oxidation. Tasted at the Vorpremiere VDP.Grosses Gewächs in Wiesbaden in August 2023.
