The 2020 Musigny Grand Cru is de-stemmed with hand with the central stem removed. It comprises of three feuillettes this year, equivalent to around 450 bottles (this continues the tradition of using feuillettes when you could use one tailor-made barrel.) Containing 50% whole bunch and only new wood, it has a fragrant bouquet that is beautifully-defined with exuberant red fruit, crushed stone and a hint of liquorice. It fans out wonderfully towards the finish, silky smooth, vivid and sensual. This is a gorgeous Musigny that will age supremely well.

Still very closed and slightly flinty on the nose (reduction of this level is entirely normal during barrel ageing). However, the ravishing beauty of the palate leaves no doubt that this is a very great Musigny. So incredibly silky you want to bathe in it. The finish is off the scale in terms of length, precision and delicacy. (06/2023)
