2020 Clos Badon Thunevin

The 2020 Clos Badon-Thunevin is a big, big wine, just as it was en primeur. A blast of dark cherry, plum, chocolate, leather, licorice and smoke races across the palate. An exuberant, sumptuous Saint-Émilion, Clos Badon-Thunevin is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Black earth, black berry, crushed stone and fresh mushroom aromas follow through to a medium to full body with plenty of fruit, and hazelnut and walnut undertones in the finish. Creamy textured and structured at the same time. Try after 2025. (05/2023)

The 2020 Clos Badon Thunevin is brilliant, and I'd certainly be happy with bottles in the cellar. Classic Bordeaux notes of red and black fruits, white truffle, leather, lead pencil, and dried herbs give way to a medium to full-bodied, round, supple, incredibly satisfying Saint-Emilion that can be enjoyed any time over the coming two decades. The 2020 Clos Badon Thunevin is deep garnet-purple in color. The nose opens with notions of fruitcake, plum pudding, and baked blueberries, leading to hints of dried Provence herbs and unsmoked cigars. The medium to full-bodied palate is firm and grainy, with muscular black fruits and plenty of freshness, finishing long and savory. (03/2023)
