"... etwas kühlere Frucht, spicy, Mitte schlank, kräftige Säure, appetitlich, sehr elegant, viel Finesse, Dichte fehlt etwas, aber schöne Länge." (2021)

The 2020 La Serre offers plenty of immediacy. Blueberry, spice, new leather, tobacco and cedar give the 2020 its effusive personality. Bright acids lend quite a bit of energy. The tannins feel just a bit coarse. That is the only thing holding the 2020 back from a slightly more positive note.

A medium-bodied red with redcurrant, berry and light chocolate character. It’s creamy and chewy. Yet, it shows polish and refinement. (2021)

Crème de cassis, violets, toasty oak, and vanilla bean notes all emerge from the 2020 Château La Serre. This modern-styled beauty stays remarkably pure, and has terrific balance as well as gorgeous tannins. (2021)

Showing a bit of charm, this wine still has the warmed fruit and light grainy feel of the vintage but comes across as lighter on its feet than most, with a mix of red and black cherry fruit, tea and incense backed by a friendly licorice note on the finish. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2030. 2,000 cases made, 300 cases imported.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2020 La Serre is sporting a lot of cedar at this nascent stage, giving way to notes of crushed black plums, fresh blackberries and boysenberries with hints of sassafras, clove oil and mocha. The medium-bodied palate has a great intensity of fresh black fruits with ripe, rounded tannins and a lively line, finishing long and spicy.
