The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Artalade Montagna Vineyard is a huge wine packed with inky dark fruit, chocolate, new leather, sweet French oak, espresso, cloves, incense and crushed rocks. This huge, brooding Cabernet packs a serious punch. I would give it a few years to soften a bit, but expect it will always be a powerhouse. - Antonio Galloni (10/2021)

 Denali: 93 Punkte
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Denali Vineyard is one of the more accessible wines in the range, if that term can be used for any of these powerhouse Cabernets. Floral and spice accents give that impression of early appeal. Although there is certainly plenty of punch and power, the Denali is also less overtly rich than most of the other wines in this lineup.- Antonio Galloni (10/2021)

Newton: 95 Punkte
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Newton Vineyard is a seriously gorgeous wine. Deep, layered and opulent to the core, the 2019 is glorious. It's a big wine, like all these Cabernets, and yet there is a feeling of poise that is impossible to miss. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, cloves, new leather and licorice build into the huge, flamboyant finish. - Antonio Galloni (11/2021)

This shows delicious blue fruit and just-picked violets, nut shells and pine wood with a touch of vanilla. Graphite, too. Full-bodied, powerful and intense with chewy tannins, yet there’s a soft feeling on the palate. Long and dry finish with a touch of crushed stone. This is too much for us this year. Try from 2023. (11/2021)

Denali: 94 Punkte
This is a powerful and rich red with blackberry, chocolate and hazelnut. Licorice, too. Full-bodied with round and juicy mouth-feel and a delicious finish. Chewy and flavorful. Needs time to soften. Better after 2025. (01/2022)

Newton: 94 Punkte
A ripe and succulent red with notes of blackberries and plums, dark chocolate and wet forest floor. A touch of eucalyptus, too. Full-bodied with layers of plush yet soft and velvety tannins. Delicious fruit and impressive depth. Holding long and even. Muscular with the tannins. Try in 2024. (11/2021)

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Artalade Montanga Vineyard comes from a site on Pritchard Hill and is one of the standouts in the lineup in 2019. Saturated purple-hued, with tons of red, blue, and black fruits, it slowly offers up more minerality, gravelly earth, lead pencil, and violet notes with time in the glass. A big, concentrated, opulent beauty, it stays balanced and nicely focused on the palate, yet it’s a sexy wine with the dial turned up to 11. All Cabernet aged 18 months in 80% new barrels, it has enough tannins to warrant short-term cellaring and will have 20 years of longevity. (05/2022)

Denali: 95 Punkte
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Denali Vineyard is juicy and lively, yet still plays in the ripe, powerful, concentrated style of all of these wines. Blue fruits, graphite, pencil lead, and graphite all emerge from this incredible red, which has full-bodied richness, ultra-fine tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. It's another truly “wow” wine in the lineup from this team that readers will absolutely love. (05/2022)

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Newton Vineyard is more grippy and restrained, with perfumed blue fruits, violets, and gravelly earth-like aromatics. Full-bodied on the palate, it has terrific concentration, lots of tannins, and a great finish. However, it needs to be forgotten for a solid 4-5 years if possible. (05/2022)

Densely packed, with baker's chocolate and tobacco wrapped around a core of steeped plum, black currant reduction and blackberry paste. The grippy, warm earth–filled finish pulls the fruit along with it, showing nice cut and drive. Some patience is needed. Best from 2024 through 2038. 262 cases made. - J.M. (10/2023)

Denali: 94 Punkte
Dense and ripe, with a core of red and black currant paste mixed with red and black licorice and bramble. Sports a tarry swath on the slightly chunky finish. Shows lots of energy, though; cellaring should stretch this out. Best from 2024 through 2036. 262 cases made. - J.M. (10/2023)

This is densely layered with black currant and fig reduction flavors at the core, wrapped in apple wood smoked bacon, warm tar and baker's chocolate and backed by flashes of zesty sweet bay leaf and chaparral. Moves slowly but steadily through the finish. Shows more oomph than purity, but all the pieces are there. Best from 2025 through 2038. 262 cases made.- J.M. (10/2023)
