2019 "Sleeping Lady Vineyard" - Cabernet Franc

A full and intense red that shows concentration and power. An array of crushed blueberries and blackberries with touches of mint, chocolate and pencil shavings. Toasted almonds, too. Layers of fine-grained, polished tannins frame the core of delicious fruit and graphite-like flavors. Long, chewy finish. A little extreme, but impressive. Try from 2024. (12/2021)

A more firm, muscular, focused 2019, the 2019 Cabernet Franc Sleeping Lady Vineyard has classic notes of currants, dark chocolate, graphite, and chalky minerals, and it shows more red and blue fruits as well as floral hints with air. Full-bodied and concentrated, with ripe tannins, give it a few years and enjoy over the following 10-15. This release comes from a cooler site and spent 18 months in 80% new French oak. 95 cases. The single-varietal 2019 Sleeping Lady Cabernet Franc is deep garnet-purple in color. It comes bounding out with exuberant notes of kirsch, blackberry pie, and wild blueberries giving way to hints of pencil shavings, dried Provence herbs, and damp soil. The full-bodied palate is big, concentrated, and impactful, with firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and minerally. (10/2023)
