The 2019 Lynsolence is a gorgeous, large-scaled Saint-Émilion endowed with tremendous body, richness and resonance. Inky dark fruit, crème de cassis, licorice, spice and chocolate are all dialed up a few notches. This voluptuous, opulent Saint-Émilion has so much to offer. Tasted two times.

Perfumed nose of spiced cherries, prunes, black olives, nutmeg, truffles and potpourri. It’s full-bodied with firm, chewy tannins. Firm, rich, tannic and compact. Better from 2026. (01/2022)

The 2019 Lynsolence is terrific and shows the freshness and purity of the vintage. Black cherries, lead pencil, baking spices, and dried flowers all define the nose, and it's already complex and nuanced. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has plenty of classic Saint-Emilion chalky minerality, terrific balance, and just a real sense of class and purity. It needs 4-5 years of bottle age (or a healthy decant). It's going to have two decades of longevity. (04/2022)

Made from 100% Merlot, the 2019 Lynsolence is a deep garnet-purple color. It rocks up with expressive scents of stewed plums, black cherry compote, licorice, and fruitcake with hints of cloves, cedar, and potpourri. The medium to full-bodied palate has a firm, grainy texture (boosted by the oak tannins) with muscular black and blue fruit and a spicy lift on the long finish. Approachable now, it would be better to give it a good couple of years in the cellar for the oak to integrate and drink it over the next 18 years+. (05/2022)

Offers a gush of warmed plum sauce and melted black licorice notes, with light singed vanilla and tobacco leaf accents. Just a touch stolid in feel. Drink now through 2026. 800 cases made, 400 cases imported.

From Merlot growing on gravel soils, the 2019 Lynsolence is a rich, dramatic wine bursting with aromas of jammy black fruit, burning embers and spices. Full-bodied, rich and muscular, it's ripe and extracted. While it's a creditable effort in this style, less would be more.
