The 2018 No. 3 d'Angélus is a very pretty Saint-Émilion to drink now and over the next handful of years. Crushed flowers, red cherry fruit, spice and tobacco all open with a bit of time. This juicy, forward Saint-Émilion has quite a bit to offer. The third wine from Angélus is terrific.

A rich nose of dark plum, blackberry, smoke, spice and vanilla. Full-bodied with chewy texture and savory, smoky, ink-like flavors. It’s precise and balanced with impressive firmness and clean tannins. Try after 2024. (03/2021)

The third wine of Angélus is rock-solid and I'd be happy to drink a bottle. Deeply hued, with a ripe nose of black cherries, blackberries, loamy earth, graphite, and bouquet garni, the 2018 N3 D'Angélus is medium-bodied and has good concentration, ripe yet certainly present tannins, and a great finish. It's approachable today, but this beauty is going to age as well, with 10-12 years of prime drink well within its capabilities. (03/2021)

The 2018 No 3 d'Angelus is a blend of 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple colored, it offers up notes of blackberry preserves, stewed plums and kirsch, plus touches of tar, pencil lead and menthol. The medium-bodied palate delivers pleasant freshness and a slight chewiness to the texture, with bags of juicy fruit and a lifted finish.
