The 2018 Mauvesin Barton benefits from its parcel-by-parcel vinification. It has a lovely bouquet, beautifully defined, with incense and pressed iris petal aromas wafting from the glass. The medium-bodied palate delivers fine-grained tannins, a crisp bead of acidity and a touch of white pepper on the finish. It feels a little pinched so soon after bottling, but it will repay cellaring. Very fine.

There is serious depth of fruit in the center palate. Medium to full body, firm tannins and a lovely finish. Shows brightness and minerality. (04/2019)

Pretty cherry and redcurrant fruits as well as leafy herbs and floral notes emerge from the 2018 Château Mauvesin Barton. Medium-bodied, with a nicely textured, elegant mouthfeel, moderate tannins, and outstanding length, it's a beautiful, classic Bordeaux to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years. (03/2021)

The 2018 Mauvesin Barton has a deep garnet-purple color. It offers a lifted nose of roses and cedar, with a redcurrant, kirsch, and cassis core, plus a hint of cinnamon stick. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is lively and perfumed, with soft tannins and a lifted finish. (09/2023)
