The 2018 La Grave Figeac is an attractive, polished Saint-Émilion. Crushed red berry, cinnamon and rose petal are all lifted throughout. Silky and medium in body, this impeccably balanced, harmonious Saint-Émilion has a ton to offer. I would prefer to drink it over the next decade or so.

A medium-bodied red with berry, chocolate and light coffee aromas and flavors, following through to a medium body, creamy tannins and an attractive finish. From organically grown grapes. Try after 2023, but already very nice. (07/2021)

The 2018 Château La Grave Figeac is impressive and has a terrific mix of elegance and richness that’s the hallmark of the vintage. Juicy berry fruits, violets, underbrush, and loads of floral characteristics all give way to a medium-bodied 2018 that has moderate tannins, nicely integrated acidity, and a pretty, balanced texture. It’s not a powerhouse, but it’s a beautiful wine that will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for a decade or more. Tasted twice. (05/2019)

Made from 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot, the 2018 La Grave-Figeac is deep garnet-purple colored and wafts out of the glass with seductive Morello cherries, Black Forest cake and spice box scents with hints of Ceylon tea, roses and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied with loads of red and black fruit layers, it has a plush texture and oodles of freshness with a lifted finish.
