"...sehr schöne, saubere, klare Frucht, Holunderbeeren, süß am Gaumen startend gefolgt von kräftigen Tanninen, sehr gute Struktur." (05/2019)

The 2018 d'Agassac is a beautiful, elegant and refined Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois. Silky and perfumed, the 2018 makes its case more with persistence than with power. Ripe red cherry, red plum, spice, blood orange and rose petal all open in the glass. This is nicely done, especially for a year in which hail dramatically reduced the Cabernet crop.

Blackcurrants, dried herbs, earth and oyster shell on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, fine-grained tannins. Fresh and clean. Try from 2022.

Checking in as 63% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Château D'Agassac has a more reticent yet solid nose of ripe black fruits, chocolate, and earthy herbs. This carries to a medium-bodied, nicely textured Haut-Médoc with good mid-palate depth, ripe tannins, and good finish. I'd give bottles 2-3 years in the cellar, and it should keep for 7-8 years or more. (03/2021)

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 D'Agassac gives up notes of crushed blackberries, blackcurrants and warm plums, plus wafts of graphite, lavender and kirsch. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly styled with crunchy black and red fruits and lovely freshness, textured by soft tannins, finishing with a skip in its step.
