A blend of moravia agria and garnacha, this has a fragrant nose with red flowers and red berries, leading to a palate that has succulent and appealingly assertive tannins that are so well defined and carry fresh. Drink or hold.

The light red 2017 Buena Pinta is a blend that has changed over time and, in this warm and early harvest, was produced with a majority of Moravia Agria grapes, a local red grape from Manchuela that has very high acidity, and only 10% Garnacha. It's pale, a characteristic of the Moravia Agria grape, and has moderate alcohol and very good freshness that give the wine a cool-climate profile. It fermented with full clusters in open-top 4,500-liter oak vats with indigenous yeasts and matured in those vats and 600-liter oak barrels for eight months. This is hard to place in a warm-climate zone, as it has great freshness with some balsamic notes, a smoky twist and a texture that feels more like a red from Galicia than from the Mediterranean, with little color and alcohol. This even felt a bit too austere. It should show great with food. 7,000 bottles were filled in April 2018.
