Springfontein Estate is clearly a fan of oak and has figured out how to manage the oak expressions beautifully with the 2016 Single Vineyard Jil's Dune Chenin Blanc. Bursting from the glass with prevailing aromas of oak spices and vanilla, the wine shows complex aromas of apple, pineapple and white peach with creamy citrus tones in the glass. Medium to full-bodied, this wine drinks more like a Chardonnay with generous oak flavors that coat the palate before making way for a long, lingering finish with flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, baking spices and spiced caramel corn on the finish. If you are a fan of oak, this is the wine for you.
