The 2016 Bolaire is a gorgeous Bordeaux Supérieur from vineyards in Macau. Leather, smoke, tobacco and graphite all wrap around a core of dark fruit. Energetic and vibrant in the glass, Bolaire offers superb complexity and nuance at this level. A high percentage (50%) of Petit Verdot makes for a fabulous complement to the Merlot that makes up the other half of the blend. This is yet another absolutely delicious, budget friendly Bordeaux to savor at the dinner table.

This has plenty of green and red bell-pepper aromas, the generous tannins giving it plenty of power and drive. Long, moderately dry finish. Extremely polished tannins. A blend of 50 per cent petit verdot, 45 per cent merlot and five per cent cabernet sauvignon. Drink or hold. (2019)

From deep soils right along the river and made by the same winemaker as Belle-Vue, the 2016 Château Bolaire is a blend of 50% Petit Verdot, 45% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 10% new French oak. It’s a ripe, blue fruit-driven effort that offers loads of tobacco, leafy herb, and damp earth characteristics, medium body, a silky, elegant texture, and a great finish. It also has outstanding purity of fruit and will keep for over a decade. (2019)

Juicy and open-knit in feel, featuring a mix of cherry and blueberry fruit, accented by a jolt of toasted vanilla and backed by a flash of tobacco. A bit gussied up. Drink now. 2,722 cases made.

Blended of 60% Petit Verdot, 35% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Bordeaux Superieur has a seriously animal-scented nose with a meaty, savory character and nuances of cassis, red cherries, black plums plus a hint of bark. Medium-bodied, firm and chewy, with lovely bright fruit, it has wonderful freshness and a long, savory finish.
